I purchased this booster in Dec 2010 and here is what I have found. For everyone who may complain about having to hand wash the cover. It seems that all of the high end QUALITY car seats out there are now hand wash. I actually put mine in my front loading washer on hand wash and then hung it to dry and it came out wonderfully and just as soft as it was before. The black velour is beautiful and super plush. We lived in GA and I had been worried about the black during the summertime, but that hasn't been an issue at all. One thing I can mention is that when you go to take off and reapply the cover, make sure you have a small philips head screwdriver handy. The cover is attached to the frame by little itty bitty bands attached to itty bitty hooks that are impossible to apply with your fingers. Getting the cover back on the base where the red seat belt guides is a pain though and I am not looking forward to doing that again. Overall, a beautiful and well made seat that I am confident will protect my son and I would definitely recommend. Recaro ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat, Blue Opal
